Time: Ideally just before or right when the New Moon occurs (midday of May 16)
Supplies:
Tarot or oracle deck
Journal & pen
3-5 small seeds or bulbs (flower, herb, or vegetable - your choice)
Small pot with soil OR a patch of earth outside
A piece of dark chocolate, honey, or something delicious
A green or brown candle
Optional: rose quartz, jade, or moss agate (for abundance & pleasure)
Optional: incense or smudge (e.g., rose, vanilla, or patchouli)
A soft blanket or cushion to sit on
5 small objects from nature (stones, shells, pinecones, sticks, leaves - whatever calls to you)
1. Prepare Your Sacred Space (5–7 min)
Find a comfortable spot, preferably with access to natural light or outdoors if possible.
Lay out your soft blanket or cushion and settle in.
Light your candle and place it where you can see it easily. *If you can't find a safe way to burn a candle, flameless candles are a great alternative.
If you smoke cleanse or burn incense, do that now to create a calming, earthy atmosphere.
Arrange your 5 natural objects in a circle around your candle.
Take 3 deep, grounding breaths: breathe in slowly through your nose, hold for a count of 4, then exhale slowly through your mouth.
*Note: If holding your breath gives you anxiety, try to give at least a little pause before exhaling.
2. Opening Movement & Invocation (5 min)
Sit comfortably and place both hands flat on the earth or floor beneath you.
Close your eyes and feel the weight of your body being held by the ground.
Speak (softly or aloud): "I am held. I am nourished. I belong to the earth and the earth belongs to me. I claim my right to pleasure, to slowness, to enough. I am worthy of abundance."
Sensory grounding sequence (do each slowly and mindfully):
Touch: Pick up each of your 5 natural objects one at a time. Feel their texture, weight, and temperature. Notice every detail.
Smell: Bring each object close to your nose. What does Earth smell like? What does life smell like?
Sight: Really look at each object. Notice patterns, colors, imperfections.
Taste: Take a small bite of your chocolate or honey. Let it melt slowly in your mouth. Don't rush.
Sound: Sit in silence for 30 seconds and just listen. What do you hear?
Return to your space feeling present in your body.
3. Tarot Spread: "The Garden of Worth"
Shuffle slowly, asking what you need to cultivate and what you're worthy of receiving. Draw 5 cards in a pentacle/star formation:
Position | Meaning |
1. What I've Been Denying Myself | The pleasure, rest, resource, or abundance I've deemed "too much" or "not for me." |
2. The Scarcity Story | The belief about worth, money, or deserving that keeps me in lack instead of fullness. |
3. My Body's Wisdom | What my physical body has been trying to tell me that I've been ignoring or overriding. |
4. The Seed Waiting to Grow | The slow-building resource, skill, or source of abundance ready to be planted and tended. |
5. My Natural Inheritance | The richness that's already mine. The gifts, strengths, and beauty I was born with. |
Take your time with each card. Taurus doesn't rush. Let the insights settle into your body.
4. Deep Journal Prompts (10–15 min)
Write slowly, savoring each word like good food:
What would change in my life if I truly believed I was worthy of ease, pleasure, and abundance? Not as a reward for productivity, but simply because I exist?
Where have I been rushing, forcing, or pushing when what's actually needed is patience, presence, and trust in natural timing? What am I trying to outrun?
If I could give myself three things that would make my daily life feel more nourishing and pleasurable (not in the future, but NOW), what would they be? What's stopping me?
Let yourself write in circles if you need to. Taurus values the meander, not the sprint.
5. Seed Planting & Embodied Commitment (10–15 min)
Hold your seeds in your hands and close your eyes.
Think about what you want to grow slowly over the coming months - not a quick win, but something that will deepen and root over time. This could be:
A new relationship with rest
Financial stability
Creative practice
Body trust
A garden, literal or metaphorical
Speak to your seeds (yes, really): "I plant you as a symbol of [your intention]. I commit to tending you with patience. I trust your timing, not mine."
Plant your seeds in soil, either in your pot or in the earth. As you cover them with soil, say: "What grows slowly, grows deep. What is tended, thrives."
Place your hands on the soil and take three deep breaths. Feel the earth holding your commitment.
6. Pleasure Inventory (5–7 min)
On a fresh page in your journal, create two lists:
"Small pleasures I already have access to:" Write 10-15 things that bring you sensory joy and cost little or nothing:
The feeling of clean sheets
Morning coffee
A long shower
Walking barefoot
Your favorite song
Etc.
"Pleasures I'm claiming for myself:" Write 3-5 things you're committing to experiencing more of:
Weekly flowers from the farmers market
Saying no to things I don't want to do
10 minutes of doing nothing
Cooking a real meal for myself
Etc.
Circle ONE pleasure from the second list and commit to it within 48 hours.
7. Body Blessing & Seal (3–5 min)
Stand (or stay seated if that's more comfortable).
Place your hands on your belly, your heart, or your forehead - wherever feels right.
Speak aloud: "I am worthy of abundance. I am worthy of pleasure. I am worthy of rest. My body is wise. The earth provides. I have enough. I AM enough."
Take your chocolate or honey outside (or to a window). Place a tiny piece on the earth or on a plant as an offering. *If using chocolate, allow it to sit for a while and reclaim it, disposing of it in the trash or something as effective. Chocolate isn’t safe for all animals, and we would rather not harm them.
You can partake of some of the chocolate or honey and say: "As I give, I receive. As I receive, I give. The cycle is complete."
Return and extinguish your candle, knowing your seeds are planted and your commitment is rooted.
8. Tending Practice (Ongoing)
For the next month, tend your literal seeds (water them, give them light).
Each time you do, check in: Am I also tending the intention I planted? Am I allowing myself the pleasures I claimed?
Watch what grows when you commit to slowness.
Note: Taurus new moon energy is about enjoying life's simple and physical pleasures and becoming more aware of what makes us feel comfortable and secure. This is a time to stop hustling and start savoring, to plant seeds that will grow at their own pace, to remember that you don't have to earn your worth. It's your birthright. Trust the slow unfold. The garden grows whether you're watching or not.
